What has seemed like constant rain for the last several months is slowly starting to subside. In it’s place is high temperatures and a heat index approaching 110 degrees. WHEW! Not the best time to ride a motorcycle.

Over the past couple of days, I have received several phone calls asking what was up with the club? Why were we not riding? The primary reason is the weather! I don’t relish the idea of riding in a thunderstorm. Our last club ride, two weeks ago was dry, but very hot near the end. The club has always reduced our number of rides during June, July, and August. The goal during these months has always been one scheduled ride each month.

Our next club ride will be a breakfast ride with the goal of returning to the Weston area around noon.

When: Sunday, July 12, 2009.

Time:Â 7:30 a.m.
Â
Where: Meet at the Shell Gas Station on Griffin Road, just east of I-75. This meeting location allows for fuel, coffee, and most importantly restrooms.
Â
Destination: That is the twenty-five cent question. I am leaning to a ride up the beach to the Dune’s Cafe or something similar. Of course the day of the ride the destination may change, but the goal of an early return will rule. Bring your SunPass!

Suggestions:Â Look into wearing either a cooling vest or camel-bak.Â
