Members,
Â
Just a quick note to let you know I have not fallen off the planet. My home computer with all the club email addresses crashed 3 weeks ago. With the weather we have been having lately, it would have been difficult to schedule a club ride anyway. Please remember, if you are not recieving emails, always check the club website www.goldcoastriders.com for information. I will try and list any informaiton there.
Â
Looking at the calendar, the next scheduled club ride will be Saturday, October 4th! If you want to organize a ride yourself, please let me know the particulars and I will send out the information to the membership.
Â
Those who ordered patches: the final approval was sent in last week. I hope to have the patches soon and will send out an email as soon as I get them.
Â
October 11-13th is the Coast to Coast Ride. See the letter at the end of this email.
Â
October 19-27th is the Blairsville, Ga Fall Leaf Tour. If you are interested in going, please contact me immediatly.

Hello everyone, my name is Mark Hendrix
I am helping to organize our trip up to Tampa for the 2008 Fla Coast2Coast Ride. We still have some time but I want to throw out some info about our plans, which are not set in stone. Ernesto and I went last year and had a great time, so here are some tips.
1) Register for the ride. You can do this through the website.   www.flc2c.com
2) If you have not made your hotel reservations, I would do that. I don’t know if there are any more blocked rooms, but staying at the same hotel makes for a better experience ( right Ernesto!)
3) I would like to leave Rick Case on Friday morning about 10-11am. This way we can have a leisurely ride up to Tampa, stop for lunch, and still get there before Friday rush hour. Last year we got there right in the middle of a traffic jam.. I realize this may not work for everyone, but lets see what the consensus is.Â
4) There are activities on Friday night, which you may want to participate in.
5) The ride on Saturday was ALL DAY so plan accordingly. We will stop for lunch and several times on the way.Â
6) The directions are turn by turn, so the leader should be a couple with someone to read the directions, as they come. Last year we attached ourselves to another group and that worked out most of the time.
7) After arrival in Cocoa, there is a ceremony for awards.
Depart on Sunday morning for home. We can try and leave together after breakfast but as everyone has their own schedule, we will play it by ear.
This is rather rough, but I hope this helps as we get closer to the event. A couple other tips. You must wear a helmet for this ride. Also bring rain gear, cause we do live in Fla. Last year it was about 65 degrees at the start so dress accordingly. This is one of the most beautiful rides you can take in Florida. There are parts that remind me of North Carolina. Our goal is to reach the end but to take a nice slow ride and enjoy the scenery.
I hope this helped to answer any questions you may have. If there are any other riders who may want to go, let me know. Our goal is to ride safe and enjoy the scenery.
